George Clooney... a little too avant garde, George. Somehow, Nicole Kidman stepped up to this character reasonably well. Not like her spotlight hugging performance in "Far and Away". Not with the "my best side" hang-up like some of her scenes in "Cold Mountain".
Contemporary, compelling, somewhat science oriented. I liked the story, but next time, cool the devil may care Clooney character. Give it a 7.
REVIEWER #2: Ok, this had a really good premiss. What that means is when you read the back of the DVD box, you say, "Oh that might be worth seeing". So you drop it in and begin the saga. First, there is no way that in a crisis situation such as this that a person residing at her place on the totem pole would ever be assigned the task she got. Secondly, because she was so low, the assignment of a guy who could pick up a phone and call the Russian War room and tak to his contact inside the Kremlin is just ridiculous. All Clooney's dumb quips "Why would they kill him, it doesn't make sense" and all his "We are ready and we need to go now" was just not believable to me. I thought it was a rally crappy Clear and Present Danger.
You'll need some no-doze during this one: 5.0
