Canterbury's first kindergarten spelling champion Zachary Clark amazed the crowd at Monday's lunchroom spelling bee...and he surprised himself. Zach is well known as an excellent student, and he's always eager to learn more. He advanced through book 1 and book 2 with perfect wordcraft. "Fortuitous" ... Zack leaned back and spelled f-o-r...he asked Mrs Burgbrewer to use "fortuitous" in a sentence. Bingo, a perfect spell. "Incredulous"...bingo. "Symposium" ... bingo. Frustrated at finding no word that Zach couldn't handle, Burgbrewer fanned through her volume 8 of Czechoslovakian history for a real dilly. "Transleithanien" Burgbrewer said bruskly. "Referring to the Hungarian part of Austria-Hungary ... "Transleithanien". With perfect pronunciation, Zack repeated "Transleithanien". Then he spelled it correctly. the lunchroom crowd went wild. Zack's eyes went wide. Even he couldn't believe it. I still don't believe it.

Is that a "blowout"?
Hey, ya bum. Ya don't even know the teacher's name.
My kid can outspell Zack any time.
These comments leave a worthless void in the space-time continuum. I'd like to see some unbiased stuff that zeros in on the subject.
