There's a reason Rachel McAdams has incorporated a personal creed into her "principles to live by". She's a decision maker and a problem solver, the latter being something she put into her skill set recently. Rachel's character is a pragmatic customer service oriented manager who has it all together. Until...
The project Cillian Murphy's character has engineered appears to be a huge obstacle in Rachel's path, and the director (Wes Craven) has chosen some nail biting scenarios that all crash together in a perfect storm of carefully timed coincidences for you to try to grip.
You're going to detest the conniving despicant Jackson Rippner (Murphy). You've seen a few characters like his in the Die Hard franchise, but this Rippner is somewhat cowardly and works with a lower budget than Hans Gruber or bad boy Col. Stuart. Rippner bit off more than he could chew with Rachel McAdams' quiet bravado.
If this film had a couple of REELjockeys Meta tags, they'd be "always be ready for a surprise home invasion" and "where's the darn air marshal?" I'm giving this movie a 4.
