Movie Review...Unstoppable (second time around)

Our movie date night fell pretty flat with Unstoppable up. On reflection, this stint with Triple 7 busting through Pennsylvania at over 70 miles per hour seemed to be way too elementary to earn over a 5 on the scoreboard. When all our reviewers agreed the dialog could have been written by Meg the Dog, I woke up to that fact, and other factors took on an amateurish scent.

For example, how big is it to bust the General Manager for being too arrogant? That casserole was overcooked in the eighties. Run along the top of a freight train doing 70? That windy scene was blown dry thirty years ago. Denzel obviously overcame hurricane force physics for this film.

Oh, but take a little credit for Darcy the knockout wife, Connie the RR Ops Supervisor, and the eleventh hour message that Chris Pine was a hero. Mild chase scenes, gumball rally car flips, and obnoxious (fake) chopper incursions rounded out the taste of tin. Oh, come on! You'd give this movie a 4, too, if you weren't so enamored by Denzel's incredible presence.
