Although The Man From Snowy River contains the most unlikely sequence of dramatic circumstances ever seen on the big screen, the overall result is an excellent film. This is the story of a cattleman's nightmare surrounded by a horseman's dream. Then, there's Jessica's Theme .
The horses are wild, the women are granite, and the men are flawed...except one. Jim, the hero, is a young man of strength and humility. There's gold, young love, and wisps of romance. There's devotion, doubt, and revelation. Characters are reluctant, relentless, and rejuvenated through the personalities of two men and one woman. Tom Burlinson is truly the hero of this movie, and I suspect in real life, he's just like his character.
"Clancy's part bloodhound". "The first thing you do when a horse bucks you off..you get back on straight away".
I liked this tale of a young man raised to be a real man in Snowy River enough to recommend it to all my family. 8.5. Reminds me of this hopeful and heroic thought from Ayn Rand.
