Greatest Movies of the Decade...#12 The Mexican

The Mexican is not a man, but a highly crafted handgun. This story is a tale of craftsmanship. Unfortunately, flare-ups of arrogance and jealousy figured into the historical account and the gun's unworkmanlike personality. What could go wrong? Well, it's Meh-hee-ko.

Fate assumes a prominent place in The Mexican. Embedded humor. Honor. Dirt and dust. Despite the rather simplistic main theme, other compelling factors make this movie unique and worthy of a special place in the 2000-2010 decade of films. I'll have to admit casting Brad Pitt, Julia Roberts, and Gene Hackman made me think of who else could have aspired to these parts? None the less, this is a heckuva yarn. The movie gets 8.0/10.
