Yesterday, the Professional Wii Bowlers Tournament made an official stop in Goshen at Slater Lanes. The competition was stiff, with an initial field of 10 bowlers.
Through the first round, two standouts were the obvious final round choices. With a 205, 209 and 265 Nicole Smith rolled into the finals. That's a 679 series, a professional round by any standards.
Also coming through the ranks with a 193, 255 and 210 Mark Clark finished with a 658 series.
Both competitors sized up each other before the championship round and both were smitten for punishing the other.
Mark and Nicole both were almost perfect to the 7th frame when Mark got stuck with an open frame. Nicole powered her way through to the 10th frame with 6 out of 7 strikes to finish the game with a 216. Mark rolled in with a 193 but Nicole was on fire and in the groove.
Although early in the contest, Nicole was blaming heavy oil on the lanes for some below par bowling, she soon found her groove with a new unorthodox bowling style of using the left hand with a right hand bowler.
Congratulations to Nicole and watch for the rematch on Wii TV or Facebook, which ever comes first.

I suspect that Clark's ball was not round. I've seen him roll the 16 pounder before, and he's fully capable of a perfect game. Those balls at the Slater Lanes are notoriously egg shaped.
Who ever heard of keggling lefty with a righty fing-schlager.
Thank you for the update. Your match will go into the Facebook archive for bowling alley frequenters. This report may instigate an avalanche of other Wii sports.
Did Nicole win the usual prize for first place? Nothing?
Oh, I pine for a shot at the top prize. I'd set it up on my imaginary mantle with the other faux trophies. In fact, I'd display it proudly behind an invisible security beam.
I heard none of the host family won diddley. Had to be a big embarrassment for those people. Anybody get their knuckles crushed by a hot tempered local yokel?
Have you people ever heard of the Comment Central Committee? You ain't nuthin' until you've been commented by one of those cats.

I bowl in the basement. Got a lane all to myself. It relaxes me when I have to shake off the troubles of the day. I haven't seen a 679, though. My mind is geared to the trillions.
