Wall-e

Wall-e Tonight !

7:30 PM in DLP !!

Ok, let's get one thing straight. Wall-e (Waste Allocation Load Lifter- Earth) is a fun, entertaining and lasting movie that everyone should see. It is one of those movies that has a bit of a lesson, some cool technology and a bit of romance.

First, if you see this movie in a DLP theatre as I did, where it is projected digitally instead of using the film and reel system, you will be awed. The attention to detail of the robots, the Axiom and especially the earth, is amazing. Kudos to Pixar for that.

The movie is a story about Wall-e, the last thing left on the earth after a major garbage problem forces the human race to leave the planet for 5 years until a entire fleet of Wall-e and Wall-a (The bigger model) clean up and restore Earth back to it's glamor. Well, that was 700 years ago and things have changed a bit.

Occasionally the Axiom (the ship the humans are waiting aboard) sends probes to earth to check for signs of life. On one trip, Wall-e meets the Eve (Extraterrestrial Vegetation Evaluator) and he is intrigued. Wall-e wants to know more about Eve and stows away to the Axiom where they find high adventure.

The parallel story lines are about how the earthlings now weigh about 500 pounds each, sit in chairs all day and look at monitors and have no life and about the axioms captain who does not know what the protocol is when a droid returns with signs of life (which turns out to be small plant that Wall-e gives to Eve trying to woo her.

It's a fun, well written, movie that everyone should enjoy. Wall-e blasts off with an 8.5
