Shooter is a sad story about an American Soldier that is left behind by an arrogant US military during an operation where it is too dangerous to extract him.
Although the best sniper shooter the military has ever seen, he becomes a loner living in the foothills with his dog Sam, trying to forget what his country did to him.
Then...the government uncovers a plot to assassinate the President and the message interception indicates a sniper will take him out. Wallberg ('the shooter') is hired to assist the Secret Service in scouting locations where the shooter may make the attempt.
After he figures out that the whole thing is a setup and the command goes all the way to US Senators, he finds himself on the run, trying to clear his name and figure out what is going on.
In the end, without giving away the whole thing, he 'believes' justice is served.
When I started watching this movie, I could not stop. It intrigued me, it kept me watching, it was well paced with lots of action as you constantly try to figure out what is going to happen next.
This was a good movie. The story was fairly real, the actors were well chosen and the plot was realistic.
I give this movie a 8.75 out of 10.

I agree 100%. Wahlberg was a great choice for the shooter.
