I recently read an article on movies that have either shook us up, shook up the movie industry or were just good movies. A quick review:
In no particular order:
1. Fahrenheit 9/11: 2004: I never saw this, nor do I plan to see it. I think Mike Moore did this country an injustice by creating this film. He deserves to be in Al Franken's book as #1. (and he is by the way).
2. The Passion of the Christ: 2004: I never saw this movie and do not plan to.
3. Crash: 2005: I never saw this movie, but it is now on my list.
4. Schindler's List: 1993: An obvious choice.
5. Super Size Me: 2004: A guy makes a million bucks showing us that fast food sucks. Well, this is America, and I am sorry I didn't think of it first. Maybe I should do one on Wendy's called Biggie Size Me.
6. The China Syndrome: 1979: Excellent Movie. Right along the same lines as Wargames where human interaction and human soul actually override technology causing a major (or potential) disaster.
7. Fatal Attraction: 1987: Not a world shaking movie, but it does show that marriage is a sacred trust that should not be broken.
8. Thelma and Louise: 1991: Can two white trash women really kill themselves after driving across the country on a killing spree? Technology would kill them these days.
9. Do the right thing: 1989: Never saw it, do not intend to. (Spike Lee)
10. Million Dollar Baby: 2004: Never saw it, do not intend to.
Others that I would add:
1. War of the Worlds: (The Original).
2. K-Pax: Watch the movie thinking that he IS an alien. I think it's a hidden treasure.
3.
