Why
wasn't my American History class like this? In “Lincoln”, Daniel
Day-Lewis became Abraham Lincoln for Spielberg's masterful inspection
into the stormy thirteenth amendment debate, and Day-Lewis knocked
his portrayal out of the park. If my history teacher would have shown
me this movie, I'd have been into the subject like gangbusters.
Every
high schooler needs to see Lincoln. Directors like Speilberg should
start cranking out about a thousand more instructive films covering
the highlights of history.
I had a
great movie experience sitting with friends and watching Lincoln's
cast of players do genius work with an inspired script no doubt
painstakingly leached from reams of real documentation.

A review worthy of an academy award in its own right. After Ebert passed away I wondered if there would be another reviewer with special insight. Good job.
Not bad. But, I did the journeyman's job.
