Doc and I were pretty happy with the little surprise in Absence of Malice. Paul Newman and Sally Field dominated the action in this satisfying account of arrogance retributed. Oh, yeah, Newman and Field are pretty and resolute, but the cool hero of this kind of gotcha film is Wilford Brimley. We want to see more characters like the one Brimley portrayed, and we want you to see them, too. I'm giving this entertaining film a 6.5. If you find a copy of this movie in your "forgotten" pile, pop it in on a rainy day.
