Review: Vantage Point

Think about this: A movie that lasts 1 hour and 45 minutes that only covers about 20 minutes of actual elapsed time. That can either sound really cool or really dumb.

Now, think about this. A President is shot in front of a large crowd. Everyone sees it, but instead of following the story of 1 man (in this case Dennis Quaid, a washed up secret service agent) how about showing the same story from 5 different people. Hence: Vantage Point.

From the terrorists who kidnap the President, to the father filming the events in the crowd, I though it was interesting how different people can perceive the same event. Although a major life altering event, it was intriguing to me how the individual stories played out and how they all linked together.

This is a great idea for a movie. Although the plot to kidnap the President was flawed (they wheeled him out of a building in front of 1000 rescue personell) it was a good movie.

Vantage Point gets another look at 9. (3 explosions at .25 each)

You hit this on the nose. I liked the ground hog day repeat style, too. Reminded me of "Boomtown".

Why did that other agent go bad? I missed that part.

I hope Charlton Heston got to see this movie before he went ambient. That cell phone controlled rifle would go to the top of an NRA man's Christmas list
