Movie Review: Mr. Magoriums...

I have to say that Mr. Magoriums Wonder Emporium was a fun movie.
Mr. Magorium is 244 years old, and has been running his store for over 120 years and after completing all of his lifelong goals (including talking in a payphone), he knows it is time to move on to the next life.
He gives his store to an underachieving young girl who believes that the store is magical, but the magic comes from him, not her. And she thinks there is no way to run the store without his magic.
Eventually though, she starts believing in herself and thus believing in the magic and the store again comes to life for her to continue his legacy.
There are many great sub plots (like mutant the accountant) that happen and the toy store is absolutely a work of imaginative genius (like the toymaker downstairs who logs Mr. Magoriums life in journals, and makes toys on request for kids) with toys working and moving everywhere with no batteries and flying, and building and exploding (volcano's in the science section).
It's just a lot of fun, and it was surprising that it actually had a story behind it about believing in yourself.
For excellent special effects and a pretty good story line, I give Mr. Magoriums Wonder Emporium a solid 8.25 out of 10. (Thumbs up from me.) There were actually explosions !
Until Next Time...
