I liked the shortcut Fargo lingo.
The Coen Brothers enlisted a few regulars to reenact a story that is supposed to have happened out there in the real world. This is really a William Macy workshop. Macy knows how to portray a pathetic loser/car salesman, and he can dig a hole deeper and deeper without ever looking up. Is Macy portraying a genuine car salesman, or a guy who just got in too deep?
Macy's character hires a felon to kidnap his wife and extort a million bucks from the father in law. Six innocent citizens end up dead. One kidnapper/murderer is killed in an axe attack instigated by his crazy partner. Brainard's lady police chief (Frances McDormand) provides the brain power and lots of Scandanavian bulldoggedness to solve the crime. Then, she single-handedly captures the psycho killer out at the chipper. "There's more to life than a little bit of money...don't ya know that?" It's hard to give this movie a good score due to the atrocious series of wanton murders, but I liked the Norwegianese Englais lingo.
