Rescue Dawn is a Vietnam era story about a pilot's bout with being a prisoner of war.
This movie, it seems, I have seen many times before. Capture, release, conflict, etc. This movie starts out promising, but gets really slow. There are only so many jungle shots that are available to keep you interested. Also redundant are scenes of him running through mud, jungle and other rough terrain. Been there, done that (Platoon)
The typical prisoner camp is isolated, full of nastiness and men who are thinner than paper. Been there, done that (Rambo)
This is your typical Vietnam movie with typical scenery and slow story line. I give this movie a 6.5 out of 10.
