Happy Feet is an animated movie featuring the story of a Emperor Penguin that has been born with the unusual ability to tap dance. Of course all the rest of his penguin friends sing to communicate with other penguins, and without the ability to do it, he's banished as an outsider.
He eventually finds comfort with another penguin breed and a band of rebel spanish speaking gang members that take him in. They introduce him to their leader who claims to have seen the "aliens" that are banishing the fish in the Antarctic region threatening the lives of all the penguins.
He and his gang trek across the continent to get the real story of the aliens and the missing fish that keep his species alive. After meeting the typical antarctic villans like leopard seals, orcas and elephant seals, and ending up in Sea World as an attraction, the movie has a quick and satisfying finish that makes the film worth while.
It does have a lot of singing but Robin Williams keeps it going with corny jokes and querky dance moves.
I give this movie an 8 out of ten with beautiful animated scenery, good characters and background and a story that makes us all think a little.
